You know when in Meet the Parents, Ben Stiller is asked to pray with Martha's family and he recites that rhyming prayer and everyone's looking at him b/c he's obviously new at it and sounds ridiculous? Well its a REAL PRAYER! I found it in my book! He was trying to quote a prayer by some guy named Richard of Chichester! It goes like this:
Day by day, day by day
O, dear Lord, three things I pray:
To see thee more clearly;
Love thee more dearly;
Follow thee more nearly,
Day by day.
HAHAHAHahahahah!! I'm reading a book on prayer called, "The Transforming Power of Prayer," by James Houston and that's where I found this. It made me laugh. :)
